Derick it’s hard to believe you’re gone now, someone as sweet and caring as you. You were one of a kind and as unrealistic as this is , you are in a better place. You fought a long hard battle and i’m proud of how far you came with it, and how brave you were.

For some reason, I had this strong feeling that you were gunna come back from that death bed, and Id run into you in a near future and just talk to you about how it was to “survive cancer”. But I guess not. Im glad I met you tho, there was nevera time where you weren’t giving off happy/good vibes, which I think it amazing. LOL always trynna threaten me and shit, but I knew you were always jokin. I missed you man, but you’re in a better place now. I’ll pray for your family and friends, you wont be forgotten.

Even though we are at a new step in our lives and are going to college, I still wish that I could be a kid again. I miss those days not giving a fuck about what people are going to think when I’d run through the sprinklers on the front lawn on a hot summers day, waiting for those water fountain things in downtown to shoot up water from the ground so that I can run through them, and being able to eat whatever I wanted without having to worry about gaining weight. I miss my parents saying “Go play” as a punishment and no one pressuring me to do anything bad. Being a kid was when Hakuna Matata was actually true because there literally were no worries. Middle School, High School, and now College was/is great and all but I can truely say that, I just want to be a kid again.
